Monet/Boudin at Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza

Nacional, 26/06/2018

Monet/Boudin, the first monographic exhibition which explores the personal and artistic ties between the great Impressionist painter and his first teacher.

The show has been divided into chronological sections which begin when the young Monet entered into his studies with Boudin on his pictorial outings to capture the landscape.  As the exhibit progresses, we will witness the evolution of their respective careers and examine the origins of Impressionism. At certain points on the tour, we will provide additional information for those who wish to go deeper. By the end of our visit, we will have taken in about one hundred pieces by the two French artists. These are oils, pastels and drawings that have been sent here from all over the world, from such institutions as the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, the National Gallery in London, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes in Río de Janeiro, and the Marunuma Art Park in Japan, in addition to numerous private collections.

Audio guides available in English, Spanish, French and Italian.
