After reading the writings of Sigmund Freud, the world of dreams took on a significant thematic presence in Salvador Dalí’s work. The psychoanalyst occupied a privileged place in the painter’s imagination, and his influence was reflected in many of his paintings. The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum presents *Dalí’s Freudian Universe*, an exhibition that, through more than a hundred works, delves into the landscapes of the unconscious that both Freud and Dalí explored in their creative output.
To immerse visitors in this deep dream, we have produced an audio guide that explains Dalí’s language, over which Freud’s shadow looms. Understanding the concepts of dreams, the hypnagogic state, repressed sexuality, the castration complex, and the ability to enter the subconscious is key to placing the work in its proper context. Available in Spanish and English, this new tour is integrated into the Audioguiarte software for the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, where visitors can also enjoy the permanent collection and the Carmen Thyssen Collection.
